Choosing a window display that reads in sunlight

Every project starts with a free consultation and a site survey by our own engineers. Call +44 333 344 3384 or book a time.

Brightness is the specification that matters

A standard screen behind glass disappears in daylight. Window displays need far higher brightness, measured in cd/m² (nits). Our ultra-high brightness LCD window displays deliver 3,500 cd/m², and our DV-LED all-in-one window display reaches up to 5,000 nits for large, sun-facing frontages.

Brightness can be scheduled lower after dark, so the window stays elegant in the evening rather than glaring.

Single-sided, double-sided, hanging or freestanding

Double-sided displays show campaigns to the street and different content to customers inside. Our ultra-high brightness double-sided display runs 3,500 cd/m² outward and 1,000 cd/m² inward, in hanging or freestanding versions, black or white. A lighter 700 cd/m² double-sided version suits shaded windows.

LCD window displays come in 43" to 75"; the DV-LED all-in-one is available at 116", 157" and 231" for full-height windows.

Glass, heat and mounting

Sun-facing windows get hot. Our ultra-high brightness double-sided display is rated against panel blackening up to 110°C, and we leave the air gap each display needs between screen and glass. Hanging displays are fixed to the structure above, so we check the ceiling or bulkhead at survey.

Questions

Frequently asked

How bright does a shop window display need to be?

For windows that get direct sun, 3,000 cd/m² or more. Our LCD window displays run at 3,500 cd/m², and our DV-LED window display up to 5,000 nits.

How much does a high-brightness window display cost?

From £1,725 ex VAT for a 3,500 cd/m² LCD window display; double-sided versions from £1,785; the DV-LED all-in-one from £14,520 ex VAT.

Can I show different content inside and outside?

Yes. Double-sided window displays run independent content on each face.

Do window displays need planning permission?

A display inside the glass is not usually treated like an external sign, but rules vary by location and listed-building status, so check with your local planning authority; we can advise at survey.

Who installs it, and what aftercare is included?

Our own engineers survey, install and commission every display; we do not use subcontractors. Displays carry a 3-year warranty with lifetime technical support, and you have a named account contact after installation.
